About Thando

My cooking style is Afro-Fusion with influences from my native country, South Africa. Thando means love in the language of the Zulu and Xhosa. This word is not only in my name, but also describes my passion for food and the hospitality industry. Coming from a family steeped in hospitality, I learned early on to share my culture with others through food. I enjoy traveling around South Africa through our various foods and sharing flavors from different regions as South Africa is a melting pot of flavor as well as a rainbow nation. With recipes that have been passed on from generation to generation, enriched with a contemporary view. With the dishes, I like to tell (in English) stories about the regions where I get my inspiration from. So I will take you on a culinary safari with African hospitality!
