Chef Duarte Review, Funchal, Madeira We recently had a meal cooked by Chef Duarte in Funchal, Madeira. The meal and the whole evening were a most memorable experience. The food was thoughtfully chosen, so that we sampled a variety of the cuisine and produce of Madeira. His choices were varied and delicious. The wine pairings were excellent. Chef Duarte worked with us to accommodate the food preferences and allergies of the guests. An extra special part of the evening was that Chef Duarte provided very interesting background and insight into the culture and people of Madeira. This context enhanced our enjoyment of the meals. Chef Duarte and his co-chef were charming, efficient, and left the kitchen sparkling clean at the end of the evening.
