Absolutely. We do not store your or the chef's banking details, and partner with Stipe - a global payments provider - for safely processing payments

How can I use my gift card?

During checkout, you can apply your discount code - this option is currently unavailable on our mobile app

Why do you charge a service fee?

The service fee helps us maintain the platform, cover transaction costs, and provide support

Yes, at checkout you can choose to pay a deposit. We’ll charge 30% upfront to secure your date with the chef, and the remaining balance will be charged 14 days before the event.

What happens if the chef cancels?

This rarely happens. We have strict rules on cancelling our guests's requests and incentivize our chefs to never cancel. However, there might be emergencies. In this case, we will try to look for a chef within 24 hours of the cancellation - we cannot guarantee anything though. Refunds are of course granted if we cannot provide an alternative chef

How can I apply for a refund?

What if the number of guests changes?

Please communicate this with the chef. The chef will adjust the menu and the price accordingly.

How much does a private chef cost?

The cost of a private chef can vary greatly depending on several factors. Chefmaison ensures transparent pricing communication so that customers know exactly what to expect. There are no additional costs on the evening itself.

What time will the chef arrive?

The chef should generally arrive between 1 and 2 hours in advance, although this will be variable on a per-request basis and will be communicated through the chat

What is the difference between a private and personal chef?

A private chef is a chef who is hired by different clients for a specific event or time. A personal chef is a chef who is hired by one client full-time or part-time for a longer period of time - for example on vacation, for mealprepping or at home. ChefMaison offers both services.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Our chefs are very creative - and can find a solution to any dietary restriction or preference. Please use the chat to communicate your wishes

What do I need to have in my kitchen?

The chef will communicate with you anything he needs. Tableware, cutlery, and glasses can be provided by the chef on request. Use the chat with the chef to communicate your wishes!

Our chefs are responsible for their own liability insurance. ChefMaison is not responsible for damages or accidents during the service of the chef - it is their responsibility. If you need more information, contact us at operations@chefmaison.com

I can highly recommend Terenzio - what a talented chef and wonderful guy! Terenzio cooked a 4 course meal for my mother's 75th birthday and it was perfect in every way. The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Terenzio was also happy to accommodate my needs for gluten-free and vegetarian options and I was impressed by his attention to detail and care. Terenzio shared his passion for food and personal stories in a friendly, open manner, but was also discreet and highly professional. The kitchen was indeed left cleaner than when he arrived and the whole evening was utterly fabulous. Thank you Terenzio!!

We had the best night with Terenzio. He is very kind and made sure we had nothing to worry about during dinner. During the preparations it was nice that Terenzio offered different options for the menu, so that all dietary requirements were taken into account. Voor de verjaardag van mijn vriend heeft Terenzio Ignoni een overheerlijk diner voor ons gemaakt. De communicatie was top, alles was bespreekbaar en mogelijk. We had the pleasure of getting Chef Terenzio for our anniversary when the full Amsterdam was in lockdown. And what an experience it was! Our Italian chef was on time, extremely respectful of our space and left it cleaner than before. The food was Mama Mia!! It is by far one of the best ravioli I have had. The starter, main course and desert were worth more than the price charged and we even had leftovers for next day. Overall a 5 star experience in the comfort of our home.
