About Chef Crystal Powell
Growing up with
my family that shared the same passion, at the very young age, I fell in love
with the kitchen watching my father who was Pastry Chef in younger years and watching my mother in her drawing and painting in
her art room.
Coming from a long family line of artist and chefs, I like that I can put my own artistic and colorful ideas into a dish.
For me, cooking is like painting a canvas with bright mediums and hues. The flavors is what inspires the audience to pay close attention.
After finishing my Culinary Management 2 year diploma and gaining a dual co-op culinary apprenticeship, restaurants, and catering businesses across the city, training under various chefs from whom I have learned extensive skills in my career.
I mostly enjoy dinner parties where I can interact with clients and their families, cocktail parties of all sizes, the big plated wedding receptions to intimate private dinners.
If you were to ask me my cooking secret... it would have to be; being real and honest. Cook from the heart and with passion.
In my spare time I take advantage of photography, historical literature, music, outdoor sports and of course painting.
