I grew up in a family where Portuguese cuisine held a central place. I fondly remember the moments of peace and happiness, were always spent in the kitchen, preparing meals. I developed a special love for cooking from a young age, helping my grandmother and father – an experience that instilled in me a passion for traditional Portuguese cuisine. Over time, I became aware of the lack of recognition that often exists in the culinary field. That’s why I decided to study Restaurant Management and Wine Service. Although I didn't initially pursue a career as a chef, I wanted to find a way to bring the richness of Portuguese food to the world. Throughout my journey, I worked in five-star hotels and renowned restaurants, both in Lisbon and London, gaining valuable experience in hospitality and event planning. For eight years, I ran my own event planning company, which provided me with even more tools to create unique moments. But, after 20 years, I felt it was time to follow my true passion. That’s when I decided to dive into the culinary world and fulfil the dream of opening my own Portuguese restaurant, which I did in Newquay. Since then, I have dedicated myself to learning and improving every day, with the goal of creating experiences that bring happiness to my customers.
