I’m a Japanese Registered Dietitian from Kawasaki, near Tokyo, with over 10 years of professional experience in food and nutrition. My background includes seven years creating menus and cooking for children at a nursery school, two years cooking professionally in a Japanese restaurant, and three years providing personalized nutrition guidance.

But the true heart of my cooking began much earlier at my mother’s kitchen table.

My mother, originally from Okayama, has always loved to cook. Growing up, I woke up every morning to the comforting aroma of her homemade Japanese dishes, carefully prepared with dashi and full of flavor. Those meals became some of my happiest memories and remain at the core of the way I cook today.

Having roots in Okayama and Tokyo, growing up in Kanagawa, and having lived in Fukuoka and Osaka, I have been surrounded by different regional food cultures across Japan. This has given my cooking a wide range of flavors and influences, while always staying grounded in authentic Japanese home cooking.

My specialties are the dishes Japanese families actually gather around the table to enjoy: nikujaga, takikomi gohan, seasonal side dishes, dashi-based dishes, and tables filled with many small plates to share.

For me, delicious food is only the beginning. As a dietitian, I also understand how to create meals for children, health-conscious guests, athletes, and people with different nutritional needs without sacrificing the joy and pleasure of eating.

What I would most love to share in the Netherlands is not simply “Japanese food,” but the experience of a Japanese family table: many colorful dishes in the middle, wonderful aromas, conversation, and everyone sharing a meal together.

Through my cooking, I hope to create that same feeling of warmth and abundance that I grew up with and give my guests a little taste of home in Japan.
