About Chef Réginald Smit
From a young age I always knew that I wanted to be a chef. This led me to study at the Namur hotel school, followed by a management and catering degree in Brussels.
When I was 27 years old, I worked as a chef during 2 years in a well-known Japanese fusion restaurant located in Brussels city centre called The Little Tokyo.
Thanks to my experiences gained when travelling, I learned and developed a proper style of fusion cooking.
My private chef service adapts itself taking the preferences of the clients completely into account. If you are more a meat lover or completely vegetarian , or vegan , or pescatarian, you decide.
Thanks to my experience as a private chef I will adapt the menu completely to what you desire. The strength of my service is that it’s totally flexible. I cater for small groups, as well as groups of 30 people and more.
My specialism is fusion cuisine ! I use recipes from all over the world and most of them are infused with an Asian touch , due to my passion for travel.
My aim is to bring the taste of travel into my dishes while keeping a strong basis of French traditional cuisine.

This was a terrible experience. I requested chefs for a private dining experience, Reginald got in touch with a quote through the app. I chose him based on his menu ideas for the evening and his profile. But the communication was terrible once I had paid, it was difficult to get him to respond or confirm the menu, which was still being discussed a week before. When the dinner was due to happen, he turned up with cooked food in foil and cling film and told us to reheat it ourselves. At no point during the booking or quote process did he mention he wasn't going to prepare it or serve it, as his profile shows he does. He left the packaged food with us, no written instructions on what to do with it. He sent no garnishes either. He had not made three of the vegetarian dishes which he said would be coxinhas, instead sending some lightly seasoned chopped carrots and cauliflower as a main dish for them which is unacceptable and not of the quality I would expect from a chef in any restaurant. We had to go out shopping to buy main dishes for the vegetarian guests we had coming, even though we had paid him to prepare them. This experience was a complete disaster and it ruined the evening for everyone. His attitude on arrival was terrible, and kept repeating that he wouldn't come and cook for the price he offered it in the proposal, but if this was the case, he should have said in his proposal or quote discussions he was offering a completely different service than what he advertises or that I had requested. I would have gone with one of the other chefs who were offering the full service that I was in discussion with. It feels like a bit of scam.
